My name is Marie, I am 23 years old and based in Vienna. I studied Tourism and Hospitality Management and over the past years I discovered my true passion for painting. I am self-taught, and with every piece I create, I learn something new. Painting feels like a form of meditation to me and I can spend endless hours in my studio, completely absorbed in the process, losing all sense of time.

From the very beginning, I have experimented with unconventional materials such as old packaging, different types of plastic foils, and paper. Structure has always been central to my work, and one element that almost always finds its way into my paintings is bubble wrap. For me, it carries a nostalgic and almost universal meaning, something that has accompanied all of us throughout life. As children, we popped the bubbles for fun, while as adults we recognise its role in protecting fragile things. That duality inspires me, and I love transforming this everyday material into something that becomes part of my artistic language.

Painting is not only a way of developing my work, but also of growing as a person. The journey is a constant rollercoaster as some days I am overflowing with vision and energy, and on others nothing seems to work at all. Yet it is precisely this tension that makes every day in the studio challenging, inspiring, and so meaningful to me.

For me, my art is like a small, living project, something I want to develop, challenge, and grow with. It gives me joy and a sense of purpose that I hope to share with others through my work.
